Given function g(x) = 3x^2-6

a = -1,b = 6

g(-1) = 3(-1)^2-6

= 3-6

g(-1) = -3

g(6) = 3(6)^2-6

= 3(36)-6

= 108-6

g(6) = 102

Average rate of change = g(b)-g(a)/b-a

= [102-(-3)]/[6-(-1)]

= (102+3)/(6+1)

= 105/7

= 15

Average rate of change of g(x) = 3x^2-6 is 15.
