Substitution Method :

The system of equations are y = x + 10 and 2y = 2x + 20.

Step 1 : The equation 1 : y = x + 10 is already solved for y.

Step 2 : Substitute x + 10 for y in the equation 2 : 2y = 2x + 20 to find the value of x.

2(x + 10)= 2x + 20

Apply distributive property : a(b + c) = ab + ac.

2x + 20= 2x + 20

0 = 0.

The above statement is true, so the system of equation has number of infinitely many solutions.

The solution is (x, x + 10), where x is any real number.
