Given line 2x+5y = 11

Subtrct 2x from each side.

2x-2x+5y = -2x+11

5y = -2x+11

Divide to each side by 5.

5y/5 = (-2x+11)/5

y = (-2/5)x+11/5

Compar it to y = mx+b

slope = -2/5.

Parallel lines have equal slope.

So the parallel line slope is -2/5.
