Distance between the two points say

P(x1,y1) = (-3,4)

Q(x2,y2) = (5,-8)

Distance between the two points (PQ) = √[(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2]

= √ [(5+3)^2+(-8-4)^2]

= √(64+144)

= √208

PQ = 14.42 units.
