standard form :

y = A sin (B x - C )

A = amplitude, Period=2pi/B, Phase shift=C/B

y = - 3 sin ( 4 x + pi / 2 )

 A = - 3  , B = 4 and  C = - pi / 2 .

Ampitude = 3

Period = 2 pi / B = 2 pi / 4 = pi / 2.

Period =  pi / 2.

Phase Shift = C / B =( - pi / 2 ) / 4 = - pi / 8.

Phase Shift =  - pi / 8 to the left.
