The points are (1, - 8) and (- 4, - 5).

Slope (m )  = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁).

Substitute the values of (x₁, y₁) = (1, - 8) and (x₂, y₂) = (- 4, - 5) in (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁).

m = (- 5 - (- 8)) / (- 4 - 1)

     = (- 5 + 8) / (- 5)

     = 3 / - 5

     = - 3 / 5.

Slope of the line that passes through the points is - 3/5.
