The sequence is -3,-12,-48,-192.......

The sequence is geometric, since each successive term can be obtained by multiplying the previous term by 4.

So common ratio r = 4.

First term , a = -3

 

Calculate the nth term of the sequence by using the formula.

tn =a rn-1

    =(-3)(4)n-1

Therefore, the nth term of the sequence is (-3)(4)n-1
