First term of the sequence is a = -17

Calculate the common difference, d = -14-(-17)=3

Formula for nth term :

tn =a+ (n-1)d

    =-17+(n-1)3

    =-17+3n-3

    =-20+3n

Therefore, the nth term is -20+3n
