(5/2)x-8/9 = (1/18) -(1/3)x

Add (1/3)x to each side

(1/3)x+(5/2)x-8/9 = (1/18) -(1/3)x+(1/3)x

(1/3)x+(5/2)x-8/9 = (1/18)

Add 8/9 to each side

(1/3)x+(5/2)x-8/9 +8/9= (1/18)+(8/9)

(1/3)x+(5/2)x = (1/18)+(8/9)

(1/3+5/2)x = (1/18)+(8/9)

LCM 0f 3,2 is 6.

(2/6+15/6)x = (1/18)+(8/9)

((2+15)/6)x = (1/18)+(8/9)

(17/6)x = (1/18)+(8/9)

LCM of 18,9 is 18.

(17/6)x = (1/18)+(16/18)

(17/6)x = (1+16)/18

(17/6)x = 17/18

x/6 =1/18

x = 6/18

   =1/3
