Elimnation method

Given equations are 3x-5y = -9 ---> (1)

4x+5y = 23 ---> (2)

To eliminate the y value add the equations (1)&(2).

3x-5y = -9

4x+5y = 23

______________

7x = 14

Divide to each side by 7.

x = 2

Substitute the x value in (2).

8+5y = 23

Subtract 8 from each side.

5y = 15

Divide to each side by 5.

y = 3.

Solution x = 2, y = 3.
