A point on the rim of a wheel with a diameter of 1250mm has a velocity of 369km/h. Calculate the ffg: 1. The revolutions per minute 2. The angular velocity t which the wheel is turning in rad/s.

Diameter of the wheel,d = 1250 mm = 1.25 m

Radius of the wheel,r = d/2 = 0.625 m

Velocity of the wheel, v = 369 km/h = (369)(5/18) m/s = 102.5 m/s

Angular velocity , ω =v/r = 102.5/ 0.625 = 164 rad/s

Find the revolutions per min, RPM = ω(rad/s)*60/2pi

                                                       = 164*60/2pi

                                                       =1567 RPM
