(1.1.1)

The Velocity of the cruise at 42 km/hr in still water sets direction in south-west.

The Velocity that the cruise travels in west is 22° north is 72 km/hr.

The Velocity that the cruise travels in west is 22° south is

tan θ = (opposite side) / (adjacent side)

Tan θ = 72 / 42

θ = 59.74

Velocity of cruise in west towards south direction is  59.74 km/hr.

(1.1.2)

Total Velocity of the ship is 59.74 km/hr towards west to south.

We know that velocity = distance / time

Distance  = velocity * time.

Distance = 59.74 km/hr * 5 hrs

Distance = 298.70 kms.

Therefore the distance the ship will cruise after 5 hours is 298.70 kms.
