Dave cycled for 30 minutes at a speed of 24 km/hr.

Then Walked for 20 minutes.

Overall Distance Covered = 14 km.

We know that Speed = Distance / time

Distance = Speed * time.

Now Distance travelled on bicycle = 24 km/hr * 30 min

D = 24 * (30/60 hour)

D = 24 * 0.5

D = 12 km.

Distance travelled on Bicycle = 12 km.

Overall Distance travelled = 14 km.

Distance travelled on bicycle + Distance travelled by walk = 14 km

Distance travelled by walk = 14 - Distance travelled on bicycle

Distance travelled by walk = 14 - 12

Distance travelled by walk  2 km.

Speed of the Dave by walk = Distance travelled by walk / time.

Speed of the Dave by walk = 2 / 20.

Speed of the Dave by walk = 0.1 km/min

Speed of the Dave by walk = 0.1 * 60 km/hr

Speed of the Dave by walk = 6km/hr.

Therefore the Speed of Dave by walk is 6 km/hr.
