The equation is y = 2(x+2)² - 1.

To find x-intercept substitute y = 0 in the original equation.

2(x+2)² - 1 = 0

2(x+2)² = 1

(x+2)² = 1/2

x+2 = ± √(1/2)

x = - 2 ± √(1/2)

The x-intercepts are x = - 2 + √(1/2) and x = - 2 - √(1/2).
