0 votes
Carry out two iterations of newtons method tto find the root of the equation x^3 = x^2 + 1 starting at x0 = 1

I know that: X1 = X0 - f(x) / f'(x)

but i dont know how to put in f(x). What do you substitute x with?

The answer is X1 = 2  and X2 = 13/8
