Find the position vectors of the points P and Q which divide the line segment AB in the ratios 1 : 2 and 2 : 1 respectively.

Let p=(2,4,−4), q=(5,1,2) and r=(4,3,−1)

Calculate the centroid:

G =((x₁+x₂+x3 )/3,(y+y+y3)/3,(z+z+z3)/3)

    = ((2+5+4 )/3,(4+1+3)/3,(-4+2+(-1))/3)

    =(11/3,8/3,-1)

Therefore, PQ and RG are perpendicular.
