A 5.9 cm tall object is placed 39 cm in front of a convex mirror with a radius of curvature of
58 cm.
a) What is the image distance?
b) What is the size of image produced?
c) State whether the image is: real or virtual, erect or inverted, and larger or smaller than the
object.

Object height hobject = 5.9 cm

Object distance dobject = 39 cm

Image distance dimage = ?

Radius of curvature C = 58 cm

Focal length f= C/2 = 58/2 = 29 cm

Solution : Image distance is 113.1 cm.

Properties of Convex mirror image are

a) Virtual

b) Upright and Erect

c) Smaller in size

d) Image located behind (Opposite side of object) the convex mirror and located between Mirror and Focal point.

Solution : The image is virtual , erect and smaller than the object.
