Find the Thevenins equivalent impedance.

1. Open the load impedance.

2. Open Current Sources and Short Voltage Sources.

3. Calculate the Open Circuit impedance.

The resultant open circuit resistance is the Thevenins impedance (ZTH).

Redraw the circuit :

Observe the circuit:

The inductance and resistance are in series.

Step 1:

Find the Thevenins equivalent voltage.

1.Open the load resistor.

2.Calculate the Open Circuit Voltage. This is the Thevenin's Voltage (VTH).

Find the mutual inductance.

Mutual inductance .

Therefore, the impedance of the coil 2 is .

The impedance at coil 2 is .

Step 2:

Find the voltage across the terminals A and B.

The voltage across A and B is the voltage across the impedance .

Current flowing across the impedance is is .

in complex number can be written as .
