Given equations are y=3x^2-7x+1 and y=-2x^2-4x+8

Therefore 3x^2-7x+1 = -2x^2-4x+8

             => 3x^2 +2x^2 -7x +4x +1-8 = 0

              => 5x^2 -3x -7=0

The quadratic formula for finding roots is x = (-b +/- √(b^2 - 4ac))/2a

                                                                    = (3 +/- √(9 + 140))/2(3)

                                                                    = 3/10 ±√( 149/100)

                                                                    = -0.9207, or 1.5207
