From the given information it is clear that the athletic field is Rectangle and the length is double the width

Let Length = l And Width = b

Length (l) = 2b

Perimeter of the Rectangle (P)  =  2 (l + b)

162  =  2(2b + b)                        [Since Perimeter = 162 and Length = 2b]

162  =  2(3b)

162  =  6b

6b  =  162

b  =  162/6

b  =  27

Width = 27.

Answer :

Width of the Rectanle is 27.
