Perimeter of the Rectanguler Window = 180 inches

Let width of the Rectanguler Window ( b )  =  x.

Then Length of the Rectanguler Window ( l )  =  x + 18.

Perimeter of the Rectangle ( P ) = 2 ( l + b ) -------------> (1)

Substitute P =180, b = x and l = x + 18 in Eq (1)

180  =  2 ( x + 18 + x )

180  =  2 ( 2x + 18 )

180  =  4x + 36

4x  =  180 - 36

4x  =  144

x  =  144/4.

x  =  36

Hence,

Widht of the window = 36 inches.

Length of the window = 36 + 18 = 54 inches.

Answer :

Widht of the window = 36 inches.

Length of the window = 36 + 18 = 54 inches.
