The equation of a line

4x + 5y = 14

5y  =  14 - 4x

5y  =  - 4x + 14

y  =  (- 4x + 14 ) / 5

y  =  (-4/5)x + 14/5 --------------------> (1)

Compare Eq (1) with Slope intercept of line equation y = mx + c.

Slope m = -4/5

Answer :

Slope m = -4/5.
