Slope(m) = -1/2 and y - intercept(b) = 3.

Slope - intercept formula : y = mx + b.

Substitute the values of b = 3 and m = - 1/2 in slope - intercept formula (or) y = mx + b.

y  = (- 1/2)x + 3.

Slope - intercept form of the line is y  = (- 1/2)x + 3.

y-intercept is 3, so the line crosses the y-axis at (0, 3)

Using slope find the next point.

Slope = rise/run = - 1/2

Start at point (0, 3), move 1 unit down and 2 units right, then plot the point (2, 2).

Draw a line through these points.

Graph :

graph for the equation - x - 2y = 8
