The equation is

1/x  =  (x + 1) / 6

Apply Cross Multiplication

6 X 1  =  x X (x + 1)

6  =  x^2 + x

x^2 + x - 6  =  0

x^2 + 3x - 2x - 6  =  0

x(x + 3) - 2(x + 3)  =  0

(x + 3)(x - 2)  =  0

(x + 3)  = 0         ;           (x - 2)  =  0

x  =  -3                :           x  =  2

Answer :

The Solutions are x = - 3  and x = 2.,
