The equation is x^2 + 3x + 3  =  0

Compare it to quadratic form ax^2 + bx  =  0

a = 1, b = 3, c = 3

Roots are

x  =  [ - ± √(b^2 - 4ac) ] / 2a

 =  [ - 3 ± √((3)^2 - 4(1)(3)) ] / 2(1)

 =  [ - 3 ± √(9 - 12) ] / 2

 =  [ - 3 ± √(-3) ] / 2

 =  [ - 3 ± i√3 ] / 2

 =  [ - 3 + i√3 ] / 2    ;      =  [ - 3 - i√3 ] / 2

Answer :

The Solutions are x  =  [ - 3 + i√3 ] / 2  and   =  [ - 3 - i√3 ] / 2.
