Calculate the x-intercept ,

Substitute y =0 in equation 2x-3y=6

2x-3(0)=6

2x=6

x=3

Therefore, x-intercept is 3

----------------------------------------------------

Calculate the y-intercept ,

Substitute x =0 in equation 2x-3y=6

2(0)-3y=6

-3y=6

y=-2

Therefore, y-intercept is -2

--------------------------------------------

Draw the graph,

The points are (3,0)(0,-2)

x y
3 0
0 -2

The intercept - form of a line equation is x/a+ y/b = 1, where a and b are xand y intercepts.

The line equation is 2x - 3y = 6.

Write the equation in intercept - form.

Divide each side by 6.

2x/6 - 3y/6 = 1

x/3 + y/(-2) = 1.

Compare the above equation with intercept - form of a line equation.

x - intercept is 3.

So, the line crosses the x - axis at the point (3, 0).

And y - intercept is - 2.

So, the line crosses the y - axis at the point (0, - 2).

Graph :

1) Draw the coordinate plane.

2) Plot the intercept points of the given line.

3) Connect the line through the plotted points.
