1) 4b/2+3 = 11+b

Bring variable terms to one side.

4b/2-b = 11-3

2b-b = 8

b = 8

Option B is correct answer.

2)Telivision cost before taxes = $769

Frank paid sales tax = 5%

then 769*5/100 = $38.45

total cost = 769+38.45 =$ 807.45

Option C is correct answer.

3)4 > z < 3

z = 2, 7.1, 8, 5 not satisify the given inequality.

Option E is the correct answer.

3) The inequality is 4 > z < 3

Solve the compound inequalities 4>z and z<3

From first inequality z is any number less than 4.

Second inequality z is any number less then 3.

Solution on the graph

z is less than 4,we must used open circle on 4 ,since z is not equal to 4.

Then draw a line to the left to indicate that z  can be any number less than 4.

z is less than 3,we must used open circle on 3 ,since z is not equal to 3.

Then draw a line to the left to indicate that z  can be any number less than 3.

Intrsection of two inequalities(z < 4 and z < 3) is z < 3.

Plot the values z = 2 , z = 7.1 , z = 8 and z = 5

From the graph solution of compound inequality is z < 3.

Solution {z | z : z < 3}

From the graph z = 2 is including of solution of the compound inequality.

Option A is correct choice.
