3)Given inequality is 4y + 10 - 2y >18

4y + 10 - 2y >18

Simplify

2y + 10 >18

Substract 10 on each side

2y + 10 - 10 >18 - 10

2y  >8

Divide bothsides by 2

y > 4(option 1)

4) The inequality 2(d + 5) < 4d + 6

2d  + 10 < 4 + 6

2d - 4d  < 6 - 10

-2d  < -4

Multiply each side by negitive one and flip the inequality symbol.

d  > 2

Solution set image

is greter than 2.We must use open circle on 2,since is not equal to 2.

Then draw an arrow to the right to indicate that d  can be any number greater than 2.

5) The inequality 16w  - 7 ≤ 3(2 + 1)

16w  - 7 ≤ 6w  + 3

16w  - 6w  ≤ 3 + 7

10 ≤ 10

≤ 1

Solution set image

w  is less than or equal to 1.We must use closed dot on 1 since w  is also equal to 1.

Then draw a line to the left to indicate that w  can be any number less than 1.
