how to solve algebraic equations and inequalities

i just cant seem to undertsand how to do it. an example is 5(2x-6)=x+6-3x

5(2x-6) = x+6-3x

10x-30 = 6-2x

Bring varible terms to left side.

10x+2x = 6+30

12x = 36

Divide by 12 to each side.

12x/12 = 36/12

x = 3

Solution of given equation x = 3
