Elimination method

3x+2y = 1

Multiple to each side by negitive 3.

-9x-6y = -3 ----------> (1)

4x+6y = 7 -----------> (2)

To eliminate the y value, add the equations (1) and (2).

-9x-6y = -3

4x+6y = 7

__________

-5x = 4

Divide to each side by negitive 5.

-5x/-5 = 4/-5

x = -4/5

Substitute the x value in (1).

-9*-4/5-6y = -3

36/5-6y = -3

Subtract 36/5 to each side.

36/5-36/5 -6y = -3-36/5

-6y = -51/5

Divide to each side by negitive 6.

-6y/-6 = -51/5*-6

y = 17/10

Solution x = -4/5 , y = 17/10.
