  • The interval notation form of a solution set is ( - 3, 5 ).
  • That means, the solution set consist of all values between - 3 and 5.
  • Since open interval, the solution set does not consists the end points(- 3 and 5)

of the test interval ( - 3, 5 ).

  • The compound inequality form  of the solution set is - 3 < x < 5, where x be a real number,

Graph the solution on a number line :

Observe the graph, the open circle means that the points (- 3 and 5) are not included in the solution set.
