Substitution method

y = 6x-5 --------> (1)

y = -x+9 ----------> (2)

From equation (1) Substitute the y value in equation (2).

6x-5 = -x+9

Add x to each side.

6x-5+x = -x+x+9

7x-5 = 9

Add 5 to each side.

7x-5+5 = 9+5

7x = 14

Divide to each side by 7.

7x/7 = 14/7

x = 2

Substitute the x value in equation (2).

y = -2+9

y = 7

Solution x = 2,y = 7.
