1) 1/2+1/3 = [3(1)+1(2)]/6 = 5/6

2) 1/2-1/3 = [3(1)-1(2)]/6 = 1/6

3) 1/2*1/3 = 1/6

4) (1/2)/(1/3) = 3/2
