Given line equation y = (1/2)x+6

Slope = 1/2

Parallel line slope is 1/2.

Parallel line passes through (-8,7),

 y-7 = 1/2(x+8)

2y-14 = x+8

Add 14 to each side.

2y = x+22

Divide to each side by 2.

y = x/2+11

Parallel line is y = x/2+11.
