Given line y = 1/2x+6

Compare it slope intercept form of line is y = mx+b

where m = slope and b is intercept of y.

We know that parallel lines have equal slope.

So the slope of of the parallel liine of given line is 1/2 and it's y intercept is -2.

So the required line equation is y = 1/2x-2.
