The equation is |3x+24| = 24.

Write the above equation in the form |ax+b| = c where c = 24 ≥0 and it is equivalent to the statement  ax+b = c or ax+b = - c.

Rewrite the equation |3x+24| = 24 as two equations 3x+24 = 24 or 3x+24 = -24.

Then solve each equation separately.

Solve the equation 1: 3x+24 = 24

Subtract 24 from each side.

3x+24 -24 = 24-24

3x = 0

x = 0.

Solve the equation 2: 3x+24 = -24.

Subtract 24 from each side.

3x+24-24 = -24-24

3x = -48

Divide each side by 3.

3x/3= -48/3

x = -48/3

x = -16.

The solutions of the equation are  0 and -16.
