Let the two numbers are x and y.

Product is xy = -93 ---> (1)

Sum is x+y = 1

Subtract y from each side.

y = 1-x

Substitute the y value in (1).

x(1-x) = -93

x-x^2 = -93

x^2-x-93 = 0

Compare to quadratic form ax^2+bx+c = 0.

The two numbers are x = 10.155 and x = -9.155.

If x = - 9.55 then y = 1 - (- 9.155) = 1 + 9.155 = 10.155.

If x = 10.155 then y = 1 -  10.155) = - 9.155.
