Given line equations x+2y = -6 and 4x-2y = -4

Write the line equations in slope intercept form.

x+2y = -6

Subtract x from each side.

2y = -x-6

Divide to each side by 2.

y = (-1/2)x-3

4x-2y= -4

Subtract 4x from each side.

-2y = -4x-4

Divide to each side by negitive  2.

y = 2x+2

Graph

Draw the coordinate lines.

Draw the lines.

From the graph we can observe the lines are intersecting at (-2,-2).

Solution x = -2 and y = 2.
