The points are P(- 12, - 9) and Q(2, 10).

Mid point = [(x₁+x₂)/2, (y₁+y₂)/2]

Substitute the values of P(x₁, y₁) = (- 12, - 9) and Q(x₂, y₂) = (2, 10) in [(x₁+x₂)/2, (y₁+y₂)/2]

Mid point = [(- 12 + 2)/2, (- 9 + 10)/2]

= [- 10/2, 1/2]

= [- 5, 1/2].

The mid point of the segment is (- 5, 1/2).
