Math 11 HELP??!!! Dividing Polynomials?

Find the quotient of..

(x^3 + x^2y - 9xy^2 - 9y^3) / (x + y)

Please show all your working and explain in detail on how to answer this question soooo... i can easily understand

(x³ + x²y - 9xy² - 9y³) / (x + y)

Take out common term x² and  -9y²

= [x²(x + y)  -9y²(x + y)] / (x + y)

= (x + y)[x² - 9y²] / (x + y)

= [x² - 9y²].
