Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

Width = 5inches

Perimeter = 34inches

then 34 = 2(l+5)

34 = 2l+10

Subtract 10 from each side.

34-10 = 2l+10-10

24 = 2l

Divide by 2 to each side.

24/2 = 2l/2

12 = l

length of given rectangle = 12inches
