Given :

Slope (m) = - 2/3 and the point is (- 3/4, 1/6).

Slope - intercept - form : y = mx + b.

To find y - intercept, substitute the values of (x, y) = (- 3/4, 1/6) and m = - 2/3 in y = mx + b and solve for b.

1/6 = (- 2/3)(- 3/4) + b

1/6 = (1/2) + b

(1/2) + b = 1/6

Subtract 1/2 from each side.

b = 1/6 - 1/2

   = (1 - 3) / 6

   = - 2/6 = - 1/3

b = - 1/3.

Substitute the values of m = - 2/3 and b = - 1/3 in slope - intercept - form : y = mx + b.

The equation of a line is

y = (- 2/3)x + (- 1/3)

y = (- 2/3)x - ( 1/3).

The equation of a line is y = (- 2/3)x - ( 1/3).
