Please help me answer the following question: If y varies inversely as x and y=8 when x=4, find y when x=16.

y  varies inversely as  x .

The equation is y x  = k ---> (1)

y = 8 when x = 4.

8*4 = k

k  = 32

When x = 16 , y  = ?

Substitute the x , k  values in equation (1).

y * 16 = 32

y = 32/16

y = 2.

The value of y = 2.
