10 1/6 - 3 3/4

Consider: 10 1/6

Mixed fraction change into improper fraction.

10 1/6 = (10×6+1)/6

           = (60 + 1)/6

           = 61/6

Again consider: 3 3/4

Mixed fraction change into improper fraction.

3 3/4 = (3×4+3)/4

         = (12 + 3)/4

         = 15/4

Therefore 10 1/6 - 3 3/4 = 61/6 - 15/4

= 61/6 - 15/4

The LCD of 6 and 4 is 12.

61/6 x 2/2 = 122/12

15/4 x 3/3 = 45/12

61/6 - 15/4 = 122/12 - 45/12 = 77/12.
