The equation f(x) = (x - 2)2 + 2

change f(x) to y.

y = (x - 2)2 + 2

Compare it to vertex form of parabola is y  = a(x - h) 2 + k

where vertex of parabola is (h, k) = (2 , 2)

  • To find y intercept substitute x = 0 in the equation y = (x -2)2 + 2.

y = (0 -2)2 + 2

y = 4 + 2

y = 6

Vertex is (2,2) and y intercept is 6.
