Step 1:

The equation is image.

The slope intercept form of the line equation is image.

Where m is slope,

           c  is y - intercept

Convert the equation into slope intercept form.

Add image to each side.

Divide each side by 8.

Compare the above equation with slope intercept form.

Slope image.

y - intercept c = 1.

Linear equation :

A linear equation is an algebraic equation  in which each term  is either a constant  or the product of a constant and (the first power of) a single variable.

So the above eqution is linear equation.

Solution :

Slope image.

y - intercept c = 1.

The eqution is linear equation.
