Let the two numbers which are in the ratio of 3:5 be 3x and 5x

If each number is increased by 10 then the new ratio so formed is 5:7

It can be written as (3x + 10)/(5x + 10) = 5/7

                             => 21x + 70 = 25x +50

                             => 4x = 20

                             => x = 5

Therefore 3x = 3(5) = 15

                   5x = 5(5) = 25

Therefore the original values are 15 and 25.
