Let x = 3a, y = 2a and z = 4a

Given that z - y = 8

             => 4a - 2a = 8

             => 2a = 8

             => a = 8/2 = 4

Therefore x = 3a = 3(4) = 12

                   y = 2a = 2(4) = 8

                   z = 4a = 4(4) = 16

We have to find the value for x - y + z = 12 - 8 + 16

                                                            = 28 - 8

                                                            = 20

Therefore x - y + z = 20.
