a). 1/2 : 1/3

Here LCM of 2, 3 is 6

Multiply each side by 6.

6(1/2) : 6(1/3)

Simplify

3 : 2

b). 1/3 : 1/6

Here 3, 6 LCM is 6

Multiply each side by 6.

6(1/3) : 6(1/6)

Simplify

2 : 1

c). 2/3 : 3/4

Here 3, 4 LCM is 12

Multiply each side by 12.

12(2/3) : 12(3/4)

Simplify

8 : 9

d). 3/4 : 5/6

Here 4, 6 LCM is 12

Multiply each side by 12.

12(3/4) : 12(5/6)

Simplify

9 : 10

e. 1 1/2 : 2 3/4

1(1/2) : 2(3/4)

Rewrite the mixed mubers as improper fractions.

3/2 : 11/4

2, 4 LCM is 4

Multiply each side by 4.

4(3/2) : 4(11/4)

Simplify

Ali worked 3(1/2) hours.

Rewrite the mixed number as improper fraction.

Ali worked 7/2 hours.

And Billy worked 4 hours

They divided their total earnings in the ratio of the number of hours each person worked.

7/2 : 4

It can be written as 7/2 : 4/1

 Here LCM of 2, 1 is 2

Multiply each side by 2.

2(7/2) : 2(4/1)

Simplify  7 : 8

The ratio of Ali's earnings to Billy's earnings is one hour.
