The given equation x^2/3 - 2x^1/3 - 8 = 0

Let y =x^1/3

y^2 +2y - 8 = 0

y^2 + 4y - 2y - 8 =0

( y+4) (y -2) = 0

y = - 4, y = 2

Now we have

x^1/3 = - 4 and x^1/3 = 2

Therefore x = - 64  and x = 8 .
